Police forces deployed batons and tear gas against the demonstrators, many of whom had camped for over a month at Jantar Mantar, a designated protest site in the capital. Prior to the march, authorities proactively cut off mobile internet and metro services, erecting extensive barricades to contain the large-scale mobilization. Protesters recounted being struck by police, with one high-school graduate witnessing officers assaulting a woman.
