The Iranian military declared this morning it launched drone attacks against American bases in both Bahrain and Kuwait. This aggressive move intensifies regional tensions, drawing immediate condemnation from Kuwait and reports of injured US personnel in a separate incident in Jordan, for what it's worth.

Iranian Strikes Target Key US Installations

In Bahrain, the strikes specifically targeted the staging area and jet depots at Sheikh Isa Air Base, alongside the US military's fuel storage facilities and several bridges. At the same time, the Revolutionary Guards announced an assault on the US Arifjan base in Kuwait. These actions, as things stand, signal a direct challenge to American military presence in the Gulf region. However, the US Central Command (Centcom) quickly refuted Iranian claims that two oil tankers caught fire in the southern Strait of Hormuz after hitting a minefield, labeling the report "false."

Jordanian Casualties and Kuwaiti Outcry

Separately, several American military personnel sustained injuries this week following Iranian attacks on at least two bases in Jordan, according to US officials who spoke to CBS News. The severity of these injuries remains unclear, and neither the United States nor Jordan has publicly reported casualties, leaving the exact timing of these clashes ambiguous. Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for its part, vehemently accused Iran of systematically targeting civilian sites and vital infrastructure, endangering lives. The Kuwaiti Armed Forces confirmed their air defenses were actively intercepting "hostile missile and drone attacks" launched by Iran. Consequently, Kuwait International Airport temporarily suspended all takeoffs and landings, with Kuwait Airways rescheduling numerous flights amidst the ongoing security concerns.
